Investment overview
There is a large, quiet corner of the Texas oil industry that the majors have walked away from and the independents cannot handle. Wells that still hold recoverable oil, but sit shut-in, underutilised or producing well below their potential — too small for a large operator to bother with, too technical for a small one to fix. They are not stranded by geology. They are stranded by economics.
The Petroleum Company exists to change that. Its speciality is enhanced oil recovery: the discipline of getting the last recoverable barrels out of wells that still have life left in them. The Company does not speculate on exploration. It identifies assets with a known production history and proven remaining reserves, acquires them at an attractive basis, and applies proven EOR techniques to bring them back on line — and, critically, to keep them flowing.
That distinction removes the single largest risk in the oil business: the risk that there is no oil. On an exploration well, capital is committed long before anyone knows whether the reservoir exists, whether it will flow, or whether it will pay. Here, the oil has already been found. The well has already produced. The production history is a matter of record. What remains is an engineering question — how much more can be recovered, at what cost, and for how long — and an engineering question is one that technical expertise can actually answer.
Every barrel recovered goes straight into a global commodity market that is already waiting for it — the Company never has to create demand for its product, only to produce it.
The ambition is not a collection of wells. It is a platform: a repeatable acquisition and reactivation engine where each restored asset funds and de-risks the next, production compounds across a diversified portfolio, and the Company’s operational capability becomes the thing that is genuinely difficult for others to copy.
Enhanced oil recovery is not a general skill, and it is the whole of the Company’s specialism. The business is led by a team with a long track record in EOR — built on the service company side, on the operator side, and as owners of their own oil companies. They have delivered EOR programmes internationally and in Texas specifically. This is not a first attempt at a model learned from a textbook; it is a team returning to work they have done before, in a basin they know. Full details of the team, the current asset base and production are available to qualifying investors on request and subject to non-disclosure.
